Click here and enter the email address you originally registered on the site with. Your username and new password will be sent to you. 

You can then log into the site and change your password.  See the next FAQ for details on logging into your account and making changes to your profile.

Want to make changes to your profile, here's how:

1. Log into the site using the login button in the main menu or through the login module on the right side of the site.
2. Under the user menu (also on the right side of the site) click My Profile.
3. Now your on your profile page.  In the upper left part of the profile page, click Edit->Update Profile.
4. Now there are a set of tabs with all the information that makes up your profile on the site.  It's all editable!

There are many ways to find the same information in the site as follows:

1. Search Box: enter your search term in the search box on the right side of the site
2. Catgories: All site content by category, listed on the right side of the site.
3. Tag Cloud: Below the comment/caption area, you can add any tag you want to the picture via the tag entry form at the bottom of the page.  Your new tag then shows up in the tag cloud on the right side of the site.  When you click a word within the tag cloud, you will get a listing of all content that is tagged with that word.

Here's a quick breakdown:

1. <Prev & Next>: These DO NOT scroll through the items on the frontpage, rather, they scroll through the category the picture is in.
2. Using your browser's Back button: If you have made a comment or caption then the back button will scroll back through each submission before you will get back to the main listing you came from.

Create-a-Caption is a new feature which allows users to write the captions for posts. Most every caption you see with posts was created and voted on by the SOMC community. Create-a-caption works exactly like making a comment. You think you have a witty caption for a photo? Type it up under the create-a-caption tab and click submit. Once it's submitted other users can now see your caption in a pool with other users captions.

Users can vote on your caption and if your caption has the most votes your caption will appear as the published caption for all to see. Users are given credit for their caption as well. You are not allowed to vote for your own caption and you can only vote for captions just once. There is no time limit! So the caption with the most votes at any given time will win. It's consistently changing so keep coming back to see what captions are the winners!

An SOMC Shout-Out is a fun and easy way to show off your favorite cat to the whole world. Whether it be their birthday, anniversary, special event, big day, passing, or holiday, an SOMC Shout-Out is the perfect way to show-off your kitty.

All Shout-Outs will be displayed in our special "shout-out" section located at the top of our homepage for, literally, everyone to see. Yep, you heard right folks...top of our homepage! Actually, these kitties get top right position on many other pages within the site as well...just that much more glory for your loved one.

Simply upload a picture of your kitty and include your special message and it will be added to the Shout-Out daily rotation. Shout-outs will be posted the following day after submission and run for a period of 24 hours. Shout-Outs are $14.95 and will hopefully replace the need for boring old traditional advertising to keep SOMC going.  We are only posting 30 kitties per day so each kitty gets it's fair share of SOMC eyeballs.

Remember to copy and paste your PayPal Receipt ID for the submission form so we can confirm payment.

Have you ever wanted to look up a photo but didn't know when it was posted or what the cats name was? Well tag clouding makes finding photos easier with the help of the SOMC community. Tagging allows the community to associate keywords with specific photos. So for instance if a cat is dressed up like Elvis you can tag it as "The King", "Sideburns", or "Elvis Presley". This will make it easier if you ever wanted to search for a photo but didn't have any information on it. It will also show you what the most popular tags are on the site.

Signing up for SOMC allows you to become a part of the SOMC community and take advantage the new features we just launched. You'll be able to participate on our forums, make comments, post your own create-a-captions, have your own profile, add other users as friends and much more! And remember, it's free!

Below each post you'll see a "Share This" button. When hovered over you'll be able to access a menu allowing you to take advantage of several different features: Email friends posts, Digg the item, post the image on your Facebook or Myspace, etc. Most major social bookmarking sites are supported as well.

Expressions are there to share your cat with the world! Think of it as a public blog. Whether it be a funny story, a drawing, poem, you name it! If you've got something creative you want to share with people you're encouraged to post it here. Inappropriate or irrelevant postings will be moderated.

Private messaging is a convenient way to send a quick (or long) message to an SOMC user. The only person who will be able to read it is the person you send it to. When you're at a users profile you can click "Message" then "Send Private Message" and you will be prompted with a form to compose your entry. In the forums you can click "PM" just below a users profile image to do the same thing.

We are currently working to bring you an archived version of the old site. So all of the old photos, comments, contests, etc. will be accessible to anyone who wants to explore the old site. We'll have that for you as soon as we possibly can.

When you're on your profile page click "Edit" and "Update Profile" to update your profile.

Submitting a photo couldn't be easier! Follow this submission link , agree to our terms of submission agreement, pick your photo and upload. You're all done! Be sure to read the specifications on the submission page to make sure you've submitted it appropriately.

All photos are credited with the cat(s) name who appeared in the photo.

Unfortunately we don't notify when pictures are posted, so keep checking back to see if your cat made it!

Unfortunately due to the huge amount of photo submissions we receive it can sometimes be anywhere from 2-3 months before you see your cat on the site. We've doubled our amount of daily posts, so that should make things go by faster.
